Our Society

The Huguenots were French Protestants in the 16th century, part of a Christian movement in Europe known as the Reformation. In the 1680s Louis XIV was determined to force all his subjects to be Catholics. Many Huguenots chose exile in more friendly countries during an extended period of persecution.
